Spa town Janské Lázně lies at the foot of Černá hora (Black mountain) in east part of the Krkonoše Mountains. According to the Hüttl’s chronicle from 16th century, the warm spring in Janské Láně was found in 1006 by Jan from Chockov, which was an armourbearer of the knight Albrecht from Trautenberk. The warm spring was used for the first time for therapeutic purposes in 14th century. The rapid development of the spa industry in Janské Lázně began in 19th century. At that time was built the secession colonnade, too. Currently are treated in the spa Janské Lázně the musculoskeletal system diseases.
The city of Janské Lázně is an ideal choice for quiet summer or winter holidays. One of the biggest attractions of the region is Černá hora (Black mountain).  At its peak, you can go on foot, on bike, or you can use the modern cabin lift. From Janské Lázně, you can make the trips to the Krkonoše Mountains, where are many attractions: the city Pec pod Sněžkou, rock formations in Adršpach, the spring of the Elbe River or ZOO in Dvůr Králové nad Labem.
In winter, there are several kilometers of ski slopes with different levels of difficulty in Janské Lázně. For cross-country skiers are maintained more than 50 kilometers of cross-country skiing tracks. An attractive option for winter activities is the sledge journey Černohorská (3,5 km), too.

Forest rope park

Rope park in the trees consists of cca 40 obstacles in two circuits. Among other interesting rope obstacles you can get from tree to tree by sled or bike. Furthermore, you can enjoy an adrenaline experience in the form of a jump from 12 meters and several crossings on the pulley.

By cabin lift to Černá hora (Black mountain)

You will go to Černá hora (Black mountain) by cabin lift and you can go to the lookout:
Lookout Panorama on Černá hora (Black mountain)is an original column of cableway at a distance of 100 m from the top of the current cabin lift station, towards the ski lift Anděl. The lookout platform is located at height of 21 meters, where it offers a beautiful panoramic view of not only the region, but also a substantial part of the Krkonoše Mountains.

Lookout Hnědý vrch
The tower is located at an altitude of 1207 meters above sea level. The main viewing platform is at a height of 27 meters above the ground, the total height of the tower is 30,85 m. The lookout tower on Hnědý vrch was built to create another easily accessible destination for trips and so relieve the tourism on the peak of Sněžka.

Walking route Střední hřeben

Square from colonnade – catholic church – Rudolf’s valley – around children’s hospital Vesna
Following the mountain ridge Střední hřeben, you will reach the picnic spot Hoffman’s hut. Trip length: 2,5 km.

The peat bogs on Černá hora (Black mountain)

The peat bogs are located in a flat saddle between mountains Černá and Světlá. The length of the educational trail is about 4,5 km. There are several information panels along the way. The trail leads from the Black hut to Václavák, Hubert’s prospect and Pardubice sheds. You can connect to the trail from any side.

Louise’s way in the valley of Těsný důl

The path turns to the bridge. Already after 250 meters of walking uphill passes the pavement into the rocky canyon. The trail leads from hotel Lesní dům, Louise’s waterfalls of stream Černohorský.

From Černá hora through Václavák in Pec pod Sněžkou

The route goes from the top station of the cabin lift on the red marked tourist trail around Sokol and Black sheds to Václavák. The route continues along the hillside above the creek Javoří to Kolín and Prague sheds where the yellow, then blue tourist trail leads in Pec pod Sněžkou. Total length of this trip is 5,5 km.

From Černá hora around peat bogs and Vlašské sheds in Velká Úpa

The route goes from the top station of the cabin lift on the red marked tourist trail around Sokol and Black sheds over Václavák, where you turn right. Following the yellow marked trail around peat bogs, you come to Pěticestí. From Pěticestí, you go down a steep forest path to Vlašské sheds, where is opened the milk farm Sosna. The route continues on the yellow marked tourist trail into Velká Úpa. Total length of this trip is 8,3 km.

From Černá hora on the Bell way in Janské Lázně

The route goes from the top station of the cabin lift on the asphalt road to Zinnecker’s sheds, where you turn left. Then you walk down to the forest road on the slopes of Černá hora (Black mountain) above the valley of Těsný důl to hotel Lesní dům in Janské Lázně. Total length of this trail is 5 km and is marked by red tourist mark.

From Černá hora on the Černohorská way in Janské Lázně

The route goes from the top station of the cabin lift on the asphalt road to Zinnecker’s sheds (red-marked trail). After a sharp turn to the right follows a long traverse on the slopes of Černá hora (Black mountain) to the left-handed turn under Zrcadlovky. At the junction with the yellow marked tourist path, turn right toward Hoffman’s sheds, where you cross the state road. Along the green marked tourist path you come to the lower station of the cabin lift in Janské Lázně. Total length of this route is 6,2 km.
